ROYAL NAVAL AIR STATION
YEOVILTON, SOMERSET

May 3rd, 1941

Dear Dad:

Am shortly going to Palace to receive decoration from the King - a couple of weeks I believe. I am allowed two guests, too bad you are not here.

Doing plenty of hard work here at the Fleet Fighter School turning out pilots. Spent the whole of today doing aerobatics in flight foundation for various War Weapons Weeks all over the country. You know the sort of thing - rolls and loops, etc. in formation by three instructors of the Fleet Fighter School.

Actually the Commander of the Station - (my C.O. at Lt./Cdr) and self make up the team. No sign of those cigarettes yet! - What's wrong? Mail gets through OK. Somebody must be helping themselves.
Hope all are well at home. Don't know how I keep fit at all - get no exercise. Only thing I exercise is my judgment. Seem to fly enough to get plenty tired, anyway.

Love

Bill
