ROYAL AIR FORCE STATION,
HAL FAR, MALTA

Dear Bob:

Thanks for your letter and picture of December 25. Boy! Who said this plane couldn't fly hands off! Too true - never met a single-seater yet that could.

You can trim it pretty well with tail actuating gear but nose will gradually rise until it is steeply up and then fall away to one side or else nose gradually drops and dives in a turning spiral.

I have just come back from watching a Queen Bee wireless controlled aircraft doing its stuff. No pilot of course.

The moth took off (nearly dropping a wing) circled about for fifteen minutes, then was brought back to the aerodrome where it made a perfect landing. Many big wigs here to watch it. Do we live in the age of wonders?

Weather here fine and sunny. Hope you don't catch a chill.
