Dear Mother,-

I don't know what you will think when you get this letter about me enlisting well we will be here in Toronto for several months before we go to England and then we train there for six months before we go to the front. The battalion that I am with is all Americans it is called the American Legion. Well I will be home before I leave here and I may send some of my clothes home by express. Well how is your health and the girls. I wish you would send me Catherine's full name and address & Louise's and anybody else who wants to here from me hoping you are well.
