Dear Moo & Dusty:

Just a wee note to tell you, that we are sending you our Xmas parcel off to-day, and I sure do hope you receive it O.K. & that Jerry doesn't send it down to amuse the fishes.

I trust that Sue & Janet are both fit & well, as I'm sure they enjoyed their summer vacation up in good old Vancouver: -- Ah! for a Vancouver Summer -- I'm afraid I never appreciated them, until I came to this dirty old Clydeside, where they don't know what a summer means. Do you know, Moo, for the first time in my life I never had a swim this summer-- ghastly isn't it?

Barbara & Carol are both fit & well, and I'm sure my honey will add a word or two to my awful scrawl & give you more news than I can.

All the best to you both & a large kiss for Janet & Sue from their Uncle Dick --

Tons of love,
Dick

Dear Muriel & Dusty,

I've been watching Dick racing like a steam engine through this letter. He sure is bad at letter writing. But then aren't we all. Hope you've had a good season and that both children are well. I've sent off our unworthy Xmas gift's to you & hope for your approval. It's all we can do in this war stricken England of ours. Still we don't do so badly for all that. Carol, Dick & I are champing at the bit as it seems as if we are going to be here forever, horrid thought. Ah well, must run along now. All the best to the family.

Love Barbara
