My darling girl

Have not heard from you since I last wrote, get a move on girl your letters are very few & far between, they seem so anyway. Have just returned from a reconoitering [sic] party, we go into the line to morrow, near where we were before.

Well darling dont worry if letters are a little irregular as letters are not supposed to be sent from the front line but will try to slip you one through as often as I can. The long dry spell has broken at last & yesterday & today we have had some very heavy showers which will certainly do the crops a lot of good.

Got a letter from Lint Walters to day, you remember one of the 161. officers, will send it to you as soon as I have answered it.

Well sweetheart the stationary shortage is getting serious with me as you see on the opposite sheet is a Bridge score. No more news just now fondest love to you & the bairns, Cofiar goren z Sara.

Your loving,

Jim
