Niagara Camp
May 30th

Just a line to say I received your letter, I looked for you over on Sunday but I suppose it is just as well you did not come as I had no time. But you could have had your meals with me. I am always in the officers' mess. I wear a white starched coat with the kilts. It rained all last night but it is fine now. I see things are getting ready for the Hamilton Highlanders as they are next to us. I think we are going to the Borden Camp 15th of June.
