Sunday 11/3/17
My Own Darling Kitty,
I felt I must drop you a wee line this afternoon I intended to write yesterday but I didn't have the opportunity. Well sweetheart two years ago yesterday was out wedding day & how I wish we could have been together in our own little home to celebrate it. We got paid yesterday so last night Frank Darrow, Wilfred Berry Pat Murphy & myself went down to the village & I treated them to eggs & coffee in honor of the occasion, I wish you had seen us, it was an old French house & rough tables & benches, with an old woman & a little girl to wait on us right in their kitchen, they'd jabber away to each other & we couldn't understand a word of what they'd say & you should have heard her figure it up really it makes ones head swim
I use to think I could understand French but when I want anything I make signs & if that don't work I beat it & go without.
Well darling I do hope by the time you get this my little Margeret is better again I am anxiously waiting on a letter from you, do write often dearest, it's the only consolation I get & it does cheer me up. I was thinking all day yesterday how happy we were two years ago & pray that soon we may be together again. We had communion service after church this morning & we stayed. I got a nice letter from the Waterhouse's yesterday & also a snap they took of me while I was there which I am enclosing for you. I have met such a lot of Tillsonburg boys lately, Happy Palmer, Ellis Wood, Lynford Hains, Leslie Harris (Andy's brother) & Victor Garnham.
I am still in rest camp & expect to be for a while. I wrote to Sinclair yesterday & told him what I thought of the council trying to injure my business & asked him if he could not put a word in for me.
Well sweetheart I guess I'll close now as I have several letters to write to Vic & the Waterhouses & Arthur. So give Mother Dad & Maggie & little sonny my best love & accept heaps of love & kisses to my little darling & your dear self.
Well lots of love, ever your own devoted hubby
