My Dear Father:
Read your letter of the 19th [?] and was very glad to get it. I got two other letters that have been on the way for quite a while, so I have all my mail now. I wrote Jessie the other day and I think I told her the rumour that was going around about the Farrell boys, I heard right in Jessies letter today and I am certainly glad that is the way of it; they will likely be [?] for the winter in Blighty now. Hope they do. Had a letter from Harry [?] the other day. perhaps I told you in the last letter he said he was walking around a bit but was still lame; I think he is good for quite a while yet; I would like to see him make Canada on it. Glad to hear you have a car and I was certainly surprised to hear Roy MacCurdy had one. He must be coming out of his shell a bit; I think it's a good thing for the place, that is for making things a little lively. I was sure surprised to hear about Janet MacCurdy and [?] Reid; I can't hardly see that. I thought Janet had a little sense.
I was glad to hear that old Uncle William is still about to get out around a bit. I remember [?] to him the next time you see him. I think Mary MacCurdy and [?] Burris will make a good hitch up don't you?
I am at the school yet having a nice time, was over to the Batt'n today and saw all the boys. Doug was presented with his Military Medal. Quite a few medals presented to the Batt'n today, one of our Sgt. Got a D.C.M.
Well I think this is all I have to say this time, hoping to hear from you soon I am
As Ever Your Loving Son
Spence.
