My Dear Jessie:

Have not heard from you for some time, but being as this is Sunday, I thought I had better write you a note to let you know I was still alive and howling; don't know what has happened with the Canadian mail; have not had any for over two weeks but expect some some of these days; will live in [?]. Had church parade this morning and listened to Capt. Clarke give a fine Sermon. After church service we had communion.

How are Perce and [? Garret] getting along. that's about the limit I think. I wonder what Ervin thinks of it, it will be good thing for Perce though. I suppose Father is in the woods hunting considerable these fine Autumn days. I remember the fall I enlisted I was out with Father, up to Canada for a hunt; I enjoyed those trips and would certainly enjoy one now, but Fritzy doesn't see his way clear to let me go!

Do you people ever hear any word from Doug Reid, he is certainly having some time in England; good luck to him. Well; there is simply nothing whatever to write so guess I will have to close. Good-bye.

Love to Father and Gow.

Loving bro Spence
