My Dear Jessie:

Read your letter yesterday and Sade's today; was to glad to get them; its certainly nice to heard from home; the boys are looking for letters every day. Some class to Sade; I would certainly like to be there tomorrow (16th) to see the event taking place. I wish her much happiness, the which I have no doubt she will have. I think is getting a very nice husband. Hed's a nice chap.

I don't think we came across quite as quick as you people have heard we did, but we came quite-quick. We didn't get the Kilts aboard the boat either. but we are going to get them I think. Will try and send you a snapshot when we get them.

You poor kid, you must be having a hard time with you back and indigestion. I suppose you are better by this time; hope you are anyway; don't work to hard. Your letter told me yesterday that old Uncle Hugh Reig was very low and Sade's today said he was dead. Poor old man lived quite a long life though; I suppose he was ready to die.

Gow[?] is still chasing the girls is he? He"d better cut that out; its bad business chasing school teachers He should be over here if he wants girls to chase. The girls over here certainly like the Canadians.

To bad about that poor Stanley Bennet wasn't it. The rest of our boys are all night through; they are out of Quarenteen now. Don was down to see me tonight, he's looking fine are it. I think he has gained since he landed here.

We have it been working very hard since we landed, but it is getting harder all the time. Had a pretty hard route march today, but I happened to be on duty as I didn"t go on it. The roads around here are pretty hard on your feet; they are made of crushed stone and rolled by a steam roller, so they are pretty hard.

That It will be a grand thing for Mid Musq if that clay plant goes through. It should liven things up considerable.

I would like to go and see Billy Weits. I think I will make an attempt if I find out where he is. I told Harold B to tell me if he could but if doesn't you can.

Well! I think this is all the news (if there is any) this time. Their isn't much to write about about: Write soon again to Loving bro Spence.

Dear Father:

Am sending a note to you with Jessies letter asking you to kindly send me five or ten dollars before xmas. All they have given us since we landed is two £2 which is about $10, and I think we are getting 10 shillings tomorrow. Besides what we sign over the keep about $20 in reserve for us all the time, and they are taking it off of us at first, so in case we get a pass xmas for a few days, I would kike to have a little mon. It takes a letter about 15 days to come across here so you will need to send it right away.

How are you feeling this fall Hope you are well was certainly glad to see you at the Pier that day. Your family will be small than ever after tomorrow wont it. Nevertheless probably we will all meet at the old house some time again. Goodbye Lots of love son Spence.
