My Dearest

You don't know what a treat it is to me to be away from the line, it is lovely down here, but it would be a greater relief to be on the other side of the Channel. I am quite alright Dearest & will be fit again, I guess I will be away from here before very long.

Dearest I'm afraid there are several of your dear letters unanswered, I wish I had them here with me now, unfortunately nearly everything I possess was left at the Bty. wagon lines. I was just writing to you last Wed. evening when we were ordered up the line with ammunition & I had to leave the letter half finished. I must write to one of the boys & ask him to look after my personal stuff. I don't care anything about the army issue stuff because I can easily get that replaced.

There are lots of W.A.A.C. girls here, they seem to have a pretty good time. Wouldn't it be lovely if you were here? But anyway I would not be able to see you very much, because I cannot go outside the hospital, & I don't suppose I shall stay around here much longer.

I expect you are still "carrying on" at the R.O. I am longing to have another of your dear letters, hope I shall soon be able to send an address to where you can write. There seems to be no special news at present.

Bye-bye for the present
Lots & lots & lots of love & xxxxxxxxxxxxx
from Yours only & forever
Fred
