My Dearest

I was delighted to receive your dear letter. Before I left the office I felt there was one for me but I did not say anything to Millie, for fear I should be disappointed. Mother is quite agreeable Dearest. How long leave do you think you will get?

There has to be one clear day between getting the licence & the ceremony, & it will have to be at Christ Church. You know the Church with the spire on Thorne Rd. It will be just as at any other church, though ordinarily it is Ritualistic & Dearest I could get the licence if you sent a telegram (like "all is well" or someting like that) as soon as you get the permission as it would save time. Of course Mother would go with me. I would be a bit scared by myself & nobody else could get it but you or I. We could fix the time & day when you came, the day between is the least time allowed. Of course your Mother & Father must come. I am afraid Legay will not be here. He thinks he will be over there all the winter. That is too bad.

I do wish you could get into a Record Office or such like in England until the end of the war or better still, it to be over quick, the news is good tonight. Somebody came into the office & told us that we had broken the Hindenburgs line.

Dearest I am just longing to see you & I do hope the weather keeps like it is today for your leave. Annie says she will get a halfday holiday.

Will close for the present Dearest hoping you are quite well, though it does not do for Army to think you are.

Lots & lots & lots of love & xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
From Yours only & forever
