Dear Folks:

Still at Petawawa. Not very much to report—I am not in love with our method of instruction here, it is rather hard to know whether one is expected to know certain detailed things or not and then they spring the most unlikely on an exam. We had one this morning that caught me slightly off balance. Living conditions are good and we get a free show every week. However conditions are rather dull. I don't think I would want to spend my life here.

Barbara and Mrs. Hetherington [a friend and wife of a colleague, also a lawyer from Wingham] motored up last week end which made rather a break. We went down to Ottawa on Saturday when they were here and had a nice outing.

So far the weather has been perfect and in that we have been very lucky.

I have been wondering if Jim would be home for Xmas or New Year's. I will get 5 days off at either one and I would like to find out when he is coming home if at all so I could arrange it, so would appreciate any news you might have.

By the way, have you Meryl's address in Montreal. There is a fellow here goes to Montreal some weekends and I can go with him. I can find the place but would like to write before going out. I don't know the address.

Well cheerio, will be seeing you in a month.
