Dear Father,
Just a few lines again this time. Your letter arrived yesterday. I’m writing to Uncle Bill this afternoon too. I had often thought of writing to Grace, but knew neither her name nor address.
As I have mentioned before I am down at the School of Musketry, which lasts till March 3. The Hythe School is considered the last word in Musketry. I return to camp here each afternoon.
About all you here talked about here at the present time is War Loan. The Government is making tremendous efforts to raise the three million pounds.
The action of the United States is also watched with a certain amount of interest, but the interest is a curious mixture of pleasure and indifference, and the idea that she will play any important part in the war is set aside.
I am enclosing an old Life Insurance receipt which you might enclose with the policy.
I think that I mentioned before that Mina’s address is now #3 Canadian Casualty Clearing Station, B.E.F. France.
I hope that the fountain pens reached Betty and Billy all correct. Be sure and let me know.
Well, I must close now.
Your loving son,
Grant D. Mowat.
