My Dear wife and daughter
Just another short letter, to let you know that Im still O.K. received your letter yesterday dated Jan. 14th also sweetheart’s, was surprised to hear that Dick had enlisted but he will be safe enough in the foresters. You say your snow is all gone, well its going fast here, and the mud will start then and thats worse. You mentioned in one letter about a wash rag and towel that Sweetheart was sending to me, well I never got that parcel, yet so cant mention anything to her about them you understand. tell sweetheart that Im glad she thinks her new teacher is nice, she is certainly improving in her writing dont you think. I signed over $25 to the war loan out of my wages, and left it to Hughina for a burthday present it will come in handy some day, and it wont effect your money in any way. how did you make out with the patriotic fund you never told me, Well Kiddo news has’nt got plentiful here yet so Ill say good-bye for the present and good-luck to you both
