December 11. 1918

Dear Mother and Father

just a few lines to let you no I am in the best of helth I received the little bag to night just the thing to put my small articles in i ges by time you git this letter christmas will bee over and you will have got the christmas cards I sent you the weather here is good for this time year thare hasent been much frost this place where i am in Called Coyeson i am about a mile away from the Camp there wear to meany thare so thay sent us to a old French Farm we live in a Cow shed it is nice and warm lots of straw to to sleep in i am up at the camp avery day i ges it wont bee long beafore we are hall back to Canada I will be glade to git back home it seams like a year since i saw you both i ges everything is prity Dear at the stores now I gis [bille misses me?] i will bee glade to see him [again?] i look at the photoes you sent me nearly every day the old [watch?] dad gave me it stoped and [when?] I was at Annties place [i?] left [it at?] a watch  makers to git [fixed?] and he fixed it and wond it up and the spring [broke so i bought?] a watch of of one the boys for 8 Shilens it keeps good time i have the old watch put away so I can bring it home when I come i think i will close for to night hopen you are hall well
