Dear Mother and Dad,

I am writing this on board the train so you will have to excuse the writing.

I am really getting tired of doing nothing but travelling but it will be over soon now so I shall just have to be patient, I guess.

The trip so far really has not been too bad. When I got up in the morning after leaving Nelson I found Mr. and Mrs. Diamond on the train and they were very kind to me. They took me out in Medicine Hat for dinner and bought me a great big steak. With Mr. Diamond was Dr. Sutherland and Jack [Galter?]. At Regina I got off and caught a bus up to Saskatoon. I had to take the bus because our train was two hours late into Regina missing connections out. But I got there and had a great visit with Peter.

The only bad part of it is that I missed the connection back to Regina and am now going to be a day late. However I wired Halifax and I am sure that will be O.K.

I wish I could have stayed at home for another month. I really did enjoy it, but I shall be home again soon, I hope.

Well that is all for now. I shall write again as soon as I reach Halifax and give you an address

Much love to you both and thanks for a grand time,
Hampton
