Had a very good rest at Bearwood. Here I met Capt. MacDonald, J.M. McDonald, Matheson, Lft. Minorgan & Capt. Collins. Col. Woodhouse & Major Bayley. Back to London. Killing time.

Went to Seaford & saw Penner.

Oct 14, 1918
Met Stan Briggs at Seaford. Got Penner off on leave & took him up to London. We stayed at Jermyn Court. Went to London Hippodrome & saw “Box of Tricks”.

Visited Westminster Abbey, Law Courts, up to Oxford Circus, down to Regent. Lunch at Automobile Club with Penner & Capt. Ranger. In afternoon Penner & I went to the zoo at Regent Park. Went to Empire & saw “Violet Domino”.

Went to “Chu Chin Chow” & saw Penner off for Edinburgh.

Arrived in Boulogne. Visited No. 3 Can Gen. Hospital & saw Major Scrivinger & Col. Drum. They asked me if I would take an appointment there. This suited me. Remained for the night.

Up to Board – classified A. In the afternoon I met Capt. Law, quartermaster No. 9 Can. Stat. Hospital & the O.C., Major McDonald, who used to be sanitary officer 3rd Can Div.

Met Capt. Fraser, a school-mate of mine & Lft. Col. Marsereau & his son, the major O.C. of 25th Batallion. Met Lft. Gonnason of Victoria. My batman is Webster of Victoria.
