April 25/44

Dear Mother and Dad,

I got another letter and the Tribune in the mail today. I was glad to hear that Mr. Holmberg is better. The weather is still very damp and the mud is getting too thick for comfort.

I got some good news today. I start my course tomorrow morning and finish with the mess for good. We will go into the Morse Pool first for 12 weeks and then begin our practical. I guess that means I will have to buckle down and cut out going to so many shows. There is a good one on tonight, “Happy Land.”

Your loving son,
Malcolm
