Sept 29/18.

Dear Mother:

Another Sunday has come around and I have had only one letter since I last wrote that one was from Roberta mailed Sept 3rd and arrived here this a.m. It is a nice long interesting letter. I guess Roberta must be growing up alright as she says she is quite a cook. Well if she gets five years at Domestic Science she should know something about it. I will let her know when I am coming home so she can have those lemon and cream pies all ready. Sound good to read about.

A week ago yesterday I was in London to see Roy. He looks fine. It’s a wonder they let him come back these times Rollie was up to see him the same afternoon so we had quite a family reunion. It seemed like old times to be with the two of them again. I intended to get up again this last week but it did not come off. Today it has been raining hard since before dinner so I did not go out.

I had a letter from Geo Bryson this last week. He is down at Witley camp now. I want to get over to see him and some of the other boys but I have not had any leave lately. When I do get a few days off I suppose the boys will be scattered again. Some of the boys I came home from E.A with have gone over to France for the winter. I expect I will have to go over as well but I do not know for sure yet. It seems there is a large convalescent camp some place in the south of France where they are sending all Malaria cases for the winter. Well it will be a change anyway if I do have to go.

I got some money from the Pay Office this last week so I wont have to send home for any money for awhile longer yet. Of course I get paid each week but I got a little extra now in case I get a few days leave or anything in that line.

Roberta said you were not feeling extra well but I suppose you are better by now. Her letter has been extra fast though only twenty six days. I dont know where the parcels have got to lately as there should be some of them along here again pretty soon.

Well Mother I will close for now with lots of love to all relatives and friends

Your loving son
Harold.
