Dear Mother:-

Just a few lines to say I am still here and in the pink. I have not had a letter from you for some time, but I suppose there is a delay somewhere. I will be getting two or three some of these days. I heard from Rollie twice lately and answered him. He expects to go home very soon according to his last letter. I suppose my turn is not come along yet so I will have to be content for another couple of months. I put my name in for going yesterday but the officer said it would have to go records and back then they have to find which boat I will go on so that means March anyway. There is so much red tape in the army and they are so busy just now one cannot get any satisfaction out of them. But Mother if I have good luck I may be home in April perhaps for my birthday

I suppose there are crowds landing in Canada now as they are sending them from here pretty fast. I was to Southampton for a few days last week and they are busy loading troops there. And the trains etc are packed with troops going home for good. Quite a happy bunch at last.

I want to get another run up to Scotland next month or the first of March. I kind of like that country and the people in it.

Well Mother I know this is very short but I don’t know what to write I am in fine health now and have been for some time Hope to keep so for awhile. Will say Bye Bye for now with heaps of love to all

Your loving son
Harold.
