Dear Sis:

Don’t get alarmed because I am writing to you, I would not bother unless I had a special job for you to do. Here I am up among the hills in “Bonnie Scotland” getting plenty of fresh air and lots of sleep, mostly during the morning. This is certainly a lovely little spot here, right out in the country and nothing to keep us awake at nights. I was in to Glasgow last night, with the girls, to see a show called “Red Riding Hood” perhaps you have heard of her in your young days. We had a pretty good time and although the last train had gone long before we were ready to leave we managed to get a taxi to take us to the door and I may say we were lucky. It is ten miles to walk home from Glasgow

Everyone is away to work this morning but Mother and I, she is busy baking and I am working overtime as you see.

I may as well tell you what I want you to do right now. Get some books of views of New West, showing off our old burg and mail them over here to Mother. Now dont send one miserable little cheap thing but send a couple of good ones and some picture post cards. I will pay for them so dont be afraid. I have been here a week now imposing on her good nature and she has been asking questions of home so please send her these books as soon as you can. Then if I come up again before I leave I can tell them about them. Address them to :-

She is a married woman with a grown up family so don’t be wondering what is between us. When you send them, send your name and address with them so they can write you in reply.

I suppose by the time you receive this note it will be on in February but the middle of March at the latest should see the views here. Now be sure and send them in a cardboard roll so they wont be crushed. Make a good job of it for my sake.

Well kid I have not had any mail for some time now as I am far away from Parkhurst I expect however to get some next week when I return. Must close for now, as I don’t know of anything to write about, with loads of love to all.
