Dear Mother

Just a line to let you know I am still able to write a few lines to let you know I am well and still able to work. I guess by the time you get this letter Christmas and New Years will be well forgotten and school will be well underway again.

It is only a case of 24 days till Christmas and they say we will be on the water by Christmas but I doubt it as we have two weeks work to do here on this hauling job.

The weather here gets warmer every day and although we get a little rain nearly every day it dries up as fast as it falls and you could not tell there had been a rain in an hour afterward.

Three or four days ago got twenty one letters from home etc. One was from Jas P. Price from Detroit and one from Alec Wadsworth the rest were from you, Mary and Ruth. I also had a letter from Dean at Toronto, he still has his job alright. I dont know just how soon we will be leaving this country but I dont know what they will want us for here after a couple of weeks. If we get back to England no doubt a lot will be discharged on account of ill health and some I presume will get back to Canada. Well I must close as I have no news to tell you this time Well Bye Bye

With lots of love to all
Your son
Harold.
