My dear Mr. Beaumont Boggs

You have my deepest sympathy in the loss of your son killed in action. He has given his life for the Empire and the cause of freedom and truth and you have given of your dearest and best.

May the God of all comfort and consolation sustain you and yours under this heavy blow.

As you are a member of the Board of Governors of the Anglican Theological College I write as Chairman of this Board as well as Metropolitan of this Province.

When one member suffers all the members of the same body feel it. May we be bound more and more together both as a Church and an Empire through the Spirit of the Cross “He died for me” –

Yours very Sincerely
F.H. Du Vernet
Bishop of Caledonia
