Dear Mr Boggs

Mrs Notim and my daughter join me in offering to Mrs Boggs and yourself our most sincere sympathy in the very sad loss of your son Herbert. the shock to us was very great, as he and my son were so closely associated at the Commencement of the war, and only last week we received some snap shots from Arthur, which he said had been taken by Herbie Boggs. It is indeed a time of great trial and strain and the only consolation we can derive from it all, is that our boys have proved themselves to be men, who have willingly risked and given their young lives for their Country.

believe me to [?] in great sympathy
