Dear Miss Ansell,

Many thanks for the card. I too am sorry that I was not able to come down to South hampton, but hope yet to see you in London. It is not known when we shall go over to France but it may be soon, However if there is any more leave and I can possibly get up to London, I shall be delighted to pay you a visit there. Could you by any chance take care of my extra kit for me, when we move accross. It will of course be necessary to leave the greater part of it in England and should we be ordered to move at short notice, which will probably be the case, it would be most useful to have some place to which to send it. Please dont let me put you to any inconvenience. It is just in case you have a spare corner in the cellar, or the like.

Trusting that we may soon meet and with all good wishes for 1915, I am,

ever your affectionate cousin
Herbert
