Dearest Jeanie.-

Arrived here to-nite. It took us about seven days to get here we spent a day in Moncton a day at Goose Bay and five days in Greenland (weather) This is the most surprising place Reykjavik is the most modern city I’ve ever seen, beautifully laid out, and all buildings and houses are that rounded corner modern design. I hope you are all well at home and everything is ok. The days are starting to get very short here now it gets dark about 3 P.M. and first light is around 10 a.m. There are four of us in a hut here we have our own showers etc. so it is quite cozy but we have no batman here so we get extra pay about 90¢ a day. They have the damnedest money system here they use the Kronur its worth about 17¢ it is in the form of a bill and you get about a 100 coins to make up a Kronur. It was sort of a nice trip up except for a bad spell of weather we had in Greenland. We stayed at an American station there. You can get scotch whiskey here right from Scotland for about 80¢ a shot. They keep the fellows pretty busy here this is a hot corner for us we have to fighter escort on operations. Well my love it is nearly 1 am. I must go to bed I will write again to-morrow all my love and kisses

Frank.
