Dear Glady’s

Just a few lines in answer to your kind and welcome letter which I received some time ago but very sorry for not answering it sooner but I havent been feeling the best this last while back, but the weather has been very damp but since it has dryer weather I feel much better but you have sure had your share of sickness and I hope you are better by now. How are all your folks I havent heard from your mother for a quite a while but I suppose she is like my self, a poor hand for writing. Well Glady’s I dont remember if I told you I recieved the photo of you & Jean McGivir or not but it is a real good one. I will have some in a couple of week’s of my chum and I and I will send you one I dont know if I sent you one of my, chum and I and three other fellow’s or not, one of them was a Fritz and I dont suppose you would care for a picture of a himy but they wase’nt very good. Well tomorrow is Saturday and we have all day off but I think we will deserve it as we have to work no matter if it rain’s or not and believe me it isn’t very nice working in the bush in wet weather but I think we can stick it as it is only for duration. I put in another transfer but is was turned down so I don’t suppose there will be any chance of going back for a while yet but it seem’s to come natural for us to be grumbling no matter how easy we get it

Well Glady’s I think I have told you all for this time as new’s is scarce. So will close hoping those few line’s many find you all well as it leaves me at present.

I remain as ever
Harold

Bye bye write soon
