Dear Niece -

Just a few lines to say I am well and gitting along fine hoping this will find you’s all the same.

Do you know who started the rumor around there that I was wounded yous never want to pay any attention to anything like that for if there was anything to happen me you’s would be the first to hear it

We are on a good job now. We work at night and sleep in the day time our work is about two miles from our billets and we can not leave our billets until dark and have to be back again at day break so that dosen’t leave us very long to work for it dosent get dark until 9.30 and is light in the morning again at three oclock. Well Glady, there is not much news so with love to all will say bye by

From
Joe.

P.S.
Am sending you a wild rose I got on Vimy Ridge
