Dear Niece -:
Just a few lines to say I am getting along fine and dandy only I have a bit of a cold. We are billeted now in a town called Folkestone in private houses this town is only about five miles from Dover.
They are giving us all a six day pass and our fare paid to whereever we want to go all of our company are away now only three or four of us that had to stay to look after things but we will get our pass when the rest comes back.
How are you getting along at school are you boarding at Arthur Churches yet
It has rained nearly every day since we landed here but I dont care now how much it rains since we have moved to town for they dont work us in the rain and we have a dandy place to stay when we are home it is a six story house and furnished right up to the handle we have a room to smoke in and one for a sitting room and a library for us to read and write in and a dandy bed room. They are eight of us in the house. Well Gladys this will be all for this time so will say bye by and close. Give my love to the rest,
From
Joe
Be sure and write often once a week anyway
