My Own Dear Mother,

I can only just rattle off a short letter to you to-day as I have not much time. But it is quite a while since I wrote you, so while I have the chance I thought a few lines would be better than nothing. I received a parcel from Mrs.McKenzie, and she told me to write and she would send another. I am also waiting for another from Miss Mustart. It is a very long time since I heard from you. So some of your letters have got lost. Well Mother dear you will be surprised to know that I am going to Paris in about ten days. Two of us are going. So after we come back I will have a lot of news for you. Just now, I have nothing at all to tell you. We are still having splendid hot weather. I am in the very best of health. Next month I will have been two years in France, and two months after it will be three years since I left you. It seem to have gone over very quickly. I have not heard from South Shields for a long time. Queenie in her last letter said they were all well. So I guess they are all very busy. I am very pleased to know that she has got a position which suits her, and I hope it will last. Well Mother dear I must close here but will write again soon. Remember me to Dad and Eve with very best Love.

Your Affectionate Son
