My Dear Mother,

Just a few lines this afternoon to let you know that I am still going strong but it will have to be a very few lines because I have not much time, but I will write you a nice long letter as soon as I get a chance. Tell Eve that I saw Mr. Galloway in the Central Station but I did not have time to speak to him, it was when I was coming back, and I had to hurry for the train. He has not joined up yet, I think he is doing some kind of government work. I got the two letters one from you and one from Eve with Donkin’s address in and I wrote to him the same day and am waiting for an answer. We are having splendid weather now, it is very hot, two days ago we had a terrific thunderstorm, but it passed over and it turned out fine again. Well you will think this a very funny kind a letter, but I thought I had better let you have a few lines, and I will try to write in a couple of days. Hope Dad and Eve are keeping well

With best love to all.
Eddie.
