Dearest:

The pictures arrived to-day and I am tickled to death with them. They are just right . Duncan and all our visitors say the same thing. On the whole I think our hut is the most attractive of them all here but perhaps that is because so many of the decorations are new, at any rate, it is mighty comfortable, and we serve tea there every afternoon to about six or eight fellows, so evidently they find it comfortable too.

Just here I was interrupted by a call to go up in the air. Some German machines had been flying low over our trenches and strafing our troops and they sent a hurry call to us. Six of us were in the air within a quarter of an hour and we patrolled the lines for an hour and a half- but divil a Hun did we see. They evidently did not stay long.

I am, as always,
Your devoted husband,
Eric.
