Dear Bro:-

Just a line to-day to let you know that I received your letter of Jan. 24th a couple of days ago. Was beginning to think that you were gone home as I hadn't heard from you for so long.

Don't know when I an going to get back but have given up all hopes of getting there before July or August anyway and maybe later for according to latest rumors we are pretty nearly bringing up the rear end of the Canadian Corps.

I was expecting to go to Brusselles to-morrow for three days, but as is my usual luck the routine changed and I won't get away for another week. Suppose by that time it will have changed again.

If they don't soon send us out of here I think I will take my discharge and settle down here. Ed & I have been helping the old gent haul out a little of his manure heap just for exercise. We just work when we feel like it. When we don't feel like work we don't compre what he is trying to tell us. We went out to help him cut up a tree one day and I never laughed so much in my life. I don't think I could explain the way we went at it. He dug all the dirt away from around the roots and chopped them off then got up to the top of the tree and tied a great long rope on it and got about half a dozen men on the rope and pulled it over. They sure don't waste any of the wood.

Well I don't think there is anything to write so will ring off for this time.

Your affec. Br.

Jim
