Dear Mother –

It sure was a treat to write home about, to land in on Dave last night and he was not a little surprised. Doesn’t he look nifty!

And I recognized a few others of the gang too – Carl McCraig is in the same billet. We had an old time heart to heart chat you may believe.

As Dave is on drill I came in to town for the day and phoned to Jessie Maude. We’ll see her tonight.

Alexander is not far from Dave – I’ll find him tomorrow and Jack Donnelly will be back from Ireland at midnight.

As you may think I am now pretty well satisfied with my stay in Blighty.

I cabled home today saying that I was here and that Ewan was OK as he reported in a letter yesterday.

It seems too good to be true. Love to all.

Mac
