Dear Mother.-

We arrived here last night real good & tired but have had a nice night’s rest and feel a lot better.

I have nothing much to tell you except we arrived safely and have had a very enjoyable time on route. France as a whole is very country especially in the South where the fruit is grown. What we saw in Italy did not impress me a great deal. Think we did not see the best part of the Country.

I started this letter early this morning but did not have time to finish. We have been paraded here & there until now it is just 12.30. p.m.

I have just been looking out of the window and would you believe me I can see the Pyramids. There is plenty of scenery around here, and from now on we shall be seeing more as we get out & around.

We can get out today but I rather think that I will day in so as to get cleaned up properly.

From what I saw coming sown in the train the people here are anything but clean. They do not seem to care how they live. Where we are the people are mostly French & English and the show atleast a sample of cleanliness.

There are four fellows in my room, one R H B Cook from Aurora. We also have a Egyptian servant to clean the room, buttons beds and infact he does anything you which to give him to do.

Well there really does not seem to be any great amount of news to tell so I shall close for the present. I hope you are all well & having a real good time.

Your loving Son.

Alfred.
