My dear “Jeanne”

I feel a most deplorable culprit – for not having sent these before – even now I fear they may not all be here.

It has been my intention to answer your card for ages but – Hospital life as a patient has made me a greater slacker than ever I fear I am horribly lazy.

I looked about for you last Sunday but being a coward and pressed for time I did not go down the esctention.

I lived in hope of seeing you in the Town but you were nowhere to be seen.

I have asked a friend of mine to look you up – Perhaps he has already done so – (His name is Robinson!) – thinking you might both like to know each other as Leeds is really a deplorable place.

I have got three weeks leave at present which I shall most probably spend here, but the ankle is just about the same.

I must yet crave your pardon for not having said good-bye to you but that last morning proved some rush. However!

Please forgive me as it was my no means intentional.

Good luck to you and good bye for the present.

You sincere friend

 Dick
