Through letters recently received from the front we learn that one of the local members of the 93rd Battalion, Pte. Roy Killingbeck, No. 195744, a member of the Machine Gun Section, has won distinction on the field of battle and has been awarded the military cross with a cash accompaniment of two pounds and ten days leave in London. Killingbeck’s reward, we understand, was for handling his machine gun at a critical period in an engagement.
