Witley Camp April 24 1918 Dear Sis:- I am very sorry that I didn't get time to write you on Sunday but I am only 3 days overdue anyway. Today was pay-day so you can see that Iam not hungry tonight. In face if Iam not sick tomorrow it wont be my fault for quite recently I have demolished sufficient food for about 6 ordinary people. But pay day only comes twice a month. We have had fairly decent weather today and hope to tomorrow. But you cant rely on the weather over here. Say I wish you could send me a few sporting magazines sometime. You know the kind I mean, - of hunting and fishing I forget the titles of them. Only don't send them as magazines or I'll never get them probably. I wish you would also send some "Velvet" smoking tobacco too. Hope it isn't asking too much but you can't get either over here. Were you to see Mother Easter? I hope you were but I haven't heard since. It is 10 minutes to 9 here or 10 minutes to 3 in New York (they have daylight saving here which makes 1 hr diff) and it is Wednesday afternoon. What are you just now. try & remember and tell me just for fun. Well I guess I had better close now. Please excuse the writing. This is a rotten pen. Lovingly Ludlow
