Dearest Pal:

I got the two dear little handkerchiefs today and they are very dainty and sweet. Thank you dear heart for always thinking of what I would like. I think it is a very nice idea to give one to Pug for Laura. I shall take it out to him tomorrow. He won't have much of a chance to do Christmas shopping this year and he will be very glad to have the hankie. He expects to be moved to a Canadian hospital almost any time - he rather likes the idea as it is a step nearer home and besides almost any place is better for any invalid than London at this time of the year. We are having the usual [?] and [?] weather and a case like Pub's will benefit by a little sunshine.

It is so nice to know just where you are in each letter. Trust it is a wonderful thing that we have reached the "apres la guerre" stage. It shows everywhere, sugar and jam rations are increased and we can buy all sorts of things in the shops now that we didn't see during the war. It is nice too to be able to admire the full moon once more and know that we won't be wakened by those dreadful [?].

I have sent off your camera and kid gloves. The camera is already loaded and I will send more films as I get them. They are almost impossible but the Kodak people have promised to send me one roll each time they have any in. So take lots of pictures dearie and be in them yourself as often as you can manage for my Arfa is the one I want to see. All my love and hugs and kisses dearie heart.

Your little pal Alice Leighton
