My Dear Mother:-

Just a line or so this evening to tell you that I arrived back at the Machine Gun Depot this afternoon. It was a cheering prospect, I can assure you, to start on the road to be a soldier once more but c'est la guerre and had to be done. I came down from Glasgow on Sunday morning and spent a day and a half in London which is certainly a terribly busy place. There was great excitement there on Sat. night and Sunday when the news came thru that the Germans had agreed to Pres. Wilson's terms. The crowds fairly went wild and in the theatres there was so much excitement that the shows had to suspend but I guess it isn't over yet altho' the end is near and I hardly think I'll see France again and you can start thinking out the menu for next Xmas dinner at which I want to reserve a seat. There are a terrible horde of soldiers around here, and it will take a few days to get into the run of things once more. I went over to the YMCA tonight but it was so crowded you couldn't get in. My new address will be - -

Yours
