Dear Mother

Just a line to say I am well. I received your letter all right. You need not bother about the papers as I get them each week and there are all kinds here.

Will you write out yours and Fathers consent to my enlisting and send it to me. I should have had it before but I forgot about it.

I am enclosing a picture I had taken with a chum. It is only a joke but has turned out well. Walter [?] took it.

Well I think that is all I can say now. I noticed my letter published in the Journal.
