Left Paarde Kop at 7:30 A.M. Traveled in a northerly direction. Lord Dundonald in command. General Buller to the east of us. A lot of snipping and fighting in the afternoon. Our guns did good work. British causalities about 60 altogether. One of our shells lifted 2 Boers in the air. Got into Arnesfoort at dark. Transport didn't get in. Serg't Heron and I slept beside our saddles with saddle blankets & overcoats.
