Dear Sister
got your letter a few days ago and will try to pass away a little time thinking of some news or nonsense to write about. you said it was too nice to stay inside when you were writing, it is not at all that way here rains every day and looks as if it will keep it up for a while, there is lots of mud too. haven't had any snow yet but is about cold enough for it and this damp cold goes for a fellow that is not used to it. The bunch of Regina Leaders got here alright also some papers from Sadie and Mary Miller, There was a picture of Bobbie in the Owen Sound Sun it didn't look like him though. had a letter from mother and one from Dunk the other day. mother was getting ready to start for home will likely be there before this gets to you. Dunk was telling about the shows and prizes he got. Jim got some at Hefworth too Sadie Mack sent a box of chocolate gum, and some handkerchiefs she told me in a letter they were coming quite a while ago and I gave up all hope of seeing them but they came. I hear from Regina once in a while, and by what they say there are going to be hard times this winter on account of the poor crops. Who do you think I had a letter from the other day? (Tillie Moore) more writing to do. We were issued Balaclava caps last night, the kind that can be used for a cap or a scarf. I hear they are going to have an inspection to see than none of the fellows have rubber soles on there boots it is so cold they might start to mark time and get bouncing and they would have to throw their meals to them. I am with the Battn Snipers now. And it is not so bad a job. Do you ever stop and consider the Long Dark Form's offer? or are you content to toil on and teach the young. Well I will write a little to your friend and send her a post card known to soldiers as a Whiz Bang.
Write soon or sooner
from your Brother Keith
