Dear Mrs. Andrews,

On Monday March 2 our Society is to have the pleasure of hearing a lecture by your husband upon Projects for the Alaska Highway Route, and we should have liked to see you at the Meeting so that you could sit on the right of the President in the place normally allotted to the wife of the lecturer, when the President comes down from the platform to sit in the front row so that he can see the maps and pictures upon the screen. You will allow me to send you this formal invitation to be present, though it is not possible for it to reach you until long after the lecture has taken place.

I should like to tell you that it has been a particular pleasure to me to have known your husband now for some six months or more and to have spent quite a number of hours discussing the many scientific problems which interest us both. I have a high regard and admiration for the methods of survey by oblique photographs which are so much employed in British Columbia and have been so much neglected over here, and I have no doubt that the lecture on March 2 will do much to demonstrate the great merits of the work your husband has been doing.

Believe me

Yours very truly

(Arlen R. Hinks)
