My Dear Wife:
Just a line to let you know that I am well and hope all at home are the same. How did the garden pan out? I suppose you had all kinds of vegetables and fruits, Did the pruning improve the apple trees?
I got two lots of tobacco last week for which I am very thankful. I can now enjoy a good smoke. You can keep on sending it, as it seems to be coming if a little late The only lot I lost was with the magazines. Let me know if you got the hand painted scene on a piece of Belgium wood. Am sending you some cards with this.
The country around here is of a rolling nature, and about 6 inches of soil and then chalk. What a time Dody & Baby would have with all this chalk. I hope that they are all right by now. How is Mr & Mrs Sa[?] getting on. And say, you dear old sweetheart, how is the venison this year I guess you are having chops all the time, and I certainly would like to be there, for I so love venison chops. I guess Frank will do the hunting this year and if he is as lucky as last year you will have no scarcity of meat.
Well, you old dear, I must close with love and Kisses
Your Loving Hubby
