In France
Sept 7/16
My Dear Wife:
Just a line to let you know that I am well and in good health and hope all at home are the same. Was going to write last Sunday, but we got orders to leave Belguim for France. We left Belgium Sunday morning and arrived here Wednesday afternoon. The train ride was very tiresome, and the country through which we passed was quite prosperous looking. Have had no mail for over a week but expect a couple of letters daily. I saw Charley Berryman and Geo Gaiger before I left. They were looking well, I suppose Charley was looking for me Sunday, as I promised to go over to see him. When we get settled down will write again, probably Sunday. We brought down one of Fritzs machines this morning. We saw it falling. Am sending you some views of towns through which we passed through. Sent you a box of registered post on Sept 2nd. The whole thing cost 24 Francs
Pocket Book 8 francs
Brooches (each) 3 "
Rings (each 1 "
Am sending the prices in case you have trouble with customs. am sending you a sample of the money we get. I hope you won't spend it all at once. It looks good, but is only worth 10 cents. Well, you dear old Sweetheart, will have to close with heaps of Love & Kisses
