Dear Mother

Just a line or so to say I'm just the same as usual I have been getting mail from home regular lately so I haven't anything to kick about. I got your Xmas Greeting the other day also Hannah's from Revelstoke I guess things would the quiet at home but I suppose well all be together again soon at least I hope so. We are still in this place There are lots of rumors but of course we don't know when we will move or where to. One line we hear we are bound for Blighty next we are going straight for Canada without Going to England at all. I heard from Aunt Jim the other day. They are all fine. She wants to know if I'm going to be able to come and see them again but of course I dont know. If we go to England I guess we will get leave.

I am pretty good at present. We were put in a barn for a billet here but another fellow and I got out amongst the natives and got a bed. Of course we should be in out billet but we couldn't turn down a good bed for a barn. You ought to hear me parlez French and Belgium. I can generally get what I want and understand enough to get what they mean so that is all I worry about. I hope I wont be troubled with it much longer.

Well Mother I'll close now as I haven't much to write about. Hoping to be back home among you all soon I am.

Your loving son

John
