On Active Service
Dear Ona and Levi,
Received your letter of Apr. 10th a few days ago and was glad to hear from you. I wrote to you a letter about six days ago.
I am well and getting along fine at present and hope you are all well. I see by you letter that fishing has started at Port now. Well I could eat about six fish, O.K.
By the way I got the papers alright, but have not got the dates yet. You want to know what I would like to have in a parcel.
Well here are some things that are good. Honey, all kind of candies, cake, dates, salted peanuts, figs, raisens, and a "cone of ice-cream - a! ha!".
And you could put in a five Franc note you can get them at the Bank of Commerence for 95 cents. It would come in handy.
Well Ona I would like to have a swim in Lake Erie now as I need a both quite badly.
The weather is warm here at present, it rained a few days ago, but it is drying up again.
Mother sent me a parcel on April 6th and I got it in twenty-three days.
Hope this letter finds you in the best of Health as it leaves me well.
With love to all from
Your Brother Arthur
