On Active Service

Somewhere in France.

July 18th 1917

Dear Uncle Sol & Aunt Maggie,

Received the honey that you gave Mother to send to me about a week ago and must thank you for the same.

I got a bunch of Chronicles from Ona and I saw my letter that you put in.

I got a dandy parcel from Jenny London of Montreal. There was a lot of fine chocolates in it. and I had a fine time eating them. I got a few left, but they will soon be gone.

I am well and in good health at present.

Made a trip up in the line and came out safely. I was going to get some souviners but I didn't, this time.

I wrote a letter to Dewey to-night.

France is a pretty country that is where it is not smashed up.

I see quite a few fine sights here quite often these days.

Well I guess I will close for this time.
